We were invited down to join the 50th anniversary Pride Parade yesterday and history was made by the Quailors. It was the first time the tailoring profession has ever represented its diversity on the queer stage and boy, did they make an entrance.
The Quailors is the tailoring trade’s community of LGBTQIA+ tailors and their allies. It has been set up to bring together, and give a voice to, the tailors and craftspeople on Savile Row and beyond that identify as LGBTQIA+.
They are here to show young people wanting to get into the trade that the trade is more progressive than previous perception may suggest.
